Dr. Stewart graduated with a MBChB at the University of Cape Town, in 2010. He then moved back to Johannesburg where he worked at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital between 2011 and 2018. He also spent a year working at Zithulele Hospital, a rural hospital, situated in the Transkei. He trained as an orthopaedic surgeon at the University of Witwatersrand from 2014 – 2018. During this time, he presented several papers at various orthopaedic congresses. Completing a Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2017. In May 2018, he graduated as a Fellow of the College of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

His master’s dissertation on occupational hand injuries was published in the South African Orthopaedic Journal (SAOJ) in 2017. He is a member of the South African Orthopaedic Association (SAOA) as well as the Shoulder and Elbow Society.
